Glenn Sykes, DC, graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo, NY in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He moved to Oregon to attend chiropractic college in Portland. In 1995 he graduated from Western States Chiropractic College. Dr. Sykes then spent 4 months as an intern working with a chiropractor who specializes in Activator Methods. He spent the next 13 years working in private practice in Newberg, Oregon where he was a “small town doc” treating whole families with a variety of health concerns. Dr. Sykes also worked as an associate professor of Anatomy and Physiology at the Oregon School of Massage. The subjects he taught included cardio-respiratory, gastro-enterology, neurology, renal, hepatic and reproductive anatomy and physiology.
APPROACH: There are many different types of chiropractic treatments. Instead of specializing in one type of care, Dr. Sykes has chosen to take a wide diversity of classes. In addition to traditional manual adjustments he incorporates, Gonstead, Activator, Applied Kinesiology, cranial-sacral, and drop table. In this way he can offer a treatment plan taylored specifically for you. Chiropractic is both as art and a science. Dr. Sykes’ many years of education and his teaching experience give him a strong scientific background. Combine that with over 25 years in practice experience and varied continuing education courses and you will receive a well-rounded and unique chiropractic treatment. AREAS OF SPECIALTY:
PERSONAL INTERESTS: Dr. Sykes has always given back to his community. He served as 2 terms as president and 7 years as fund raising chairman for the Newberg Active 20/30 Club, a group dedicated to raise money for children’s charities. When he is not in the office Dr. Sykes enjoys hiking, camping and fly fishing Oregon’s high mountain streams. |
