With a holistic, comprehensive, and conservative approach to treatment, Dr. Megan enjoys treating patients of all ages. She believes that the body has the innate ability to heal itself. With chiropractic care in addition to a healthy lifestyle, diet, and exercise program, the body can function optimally and thrive. Dr. Megan enjoys providing wellness care as well as treating her patients in acute pain, those with sports injuries, chronic pain and who have a great variety of different conditions.
APPROACH: Dr. Megan has a special interest in treating children and pregnant women; she has completed a year of post-graduate training in Chiropractic Pediatrics and Pregnancy Care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is certified in Chiropractic Pediatrics (FICPA) and the Webster Technique. She is a certified practitioner of the Graston Technique®, an instrument assisted soft tissue therapy which effectively breaks down fascial adhesions and scar tissue. In addition to manual manipulation, soft tissue work, exercise and nutrition recommendations, Dr. Megan frequently treats her patients with K-Laser. K-Laser is a class IV therapeutic laser that uses red and near-infrared light to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal. The effects of laser therapy include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Dr. Megan has completed training in Craniosacral Therapy though the Upledger Institute. She is a proud member of the American Chiropractic Association, the Oregon Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. AREAS OF SPECIALTY:
ABOUT: Dr. Megan graduated from the University of Saint Thomas in Minnesota with degrees in Biology and Spanish. Following the completion of her undergraduate studies and a year long program in massage therapy, Dr. Megan relocated to Portland where she worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist while she studied Chiropractic at the University of Western States. Dr. Megan received her Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) degree from the University of Western States in 2005. PERSONAL INTERESTS: In her free time, Dr. Megan enjoys spending time with her family, chasing after her 4 year old son, cooking delicious & healthy meals, hiking, traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Dr. Megan’s love of wine and passion for travel inspired her to found Pairing and to create her own wine label, playfully named Alignment Wines. LINKS: |
